What is NEET exam?

NEET exam is an eligibility testing examination based in India. NEET full form is National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test that is conducted to check the student’s qualifying capacity for MBBS and BDS programs in medical and dental colleges of India respectively. Formerly, it was known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT).

Every year, numerous of students aspire to pursue MBBS or BDS. The first step to their dream profession is to crack arduous NEET exam. NEET exam is held under the prime guidelines of National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA is established by The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE). The purpose of NTA is to conduct transparent, efficient and international standardized tests for accessing the candidate’s competency. The exam is conducted in the month of May and there are 90,000 seats available.

The exam has a specific structure and pattern. It is available in 11 different languages and comprises of 180 questions based on science subjects.

What is the use of taking the NEET exam?

NEET Eligibility Criteria

For medical aspirants, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET qualifying standards 2021. The NEET 2021 eligibility criteria outline the required requirements for a candidate to appear for the exam. The instance is- percentile, nationality, age limit, and other requirements for candidates. All requirements must be fulfilled to appear for the exam.

Aspirants must verify that they have read and understood the NEET eligibility criteria 2021 and that they have met all of the prerequisites. If an applicant fails to fulfil the required valid requirements, they will not be permitted to fill out the NEET 2021 application form.

Indian citizens, NRI (non resident Indians), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and international nations all can sit in NEET 2021. Aspirants who meet the NEET eligibility requirements listed below and complete the application procedure by the deadline will be eligible to take the medical entrance exam in the 2021 session. NEET Application Form

Only students who met the NEET eligibility requirements were permitted to register for the NEET UG test till the NEET form 2021 deadline. According to the most recent NEET 2021 application update, the first set of registration must be completed before the NEET form filling deadline of 2021, while the second set of information can be completed before the NEET result is announced. Candidates will be contacted individually after the NEET application phases are released. The exam date for NEET (UG) – 2021 has been changed to September 12, 2021. How to apply for NEET 2021?

NEET accepts online registrations. No facility is available for offline registrations. Candidates can begin filling out their application forms on July 13, 2021. A candidate should fill the entire details and documents carefully.

Steps to apply for online registration-

  • Visit the official website. neet.nta.nic.in
  • Fill the available online application form.
  • Upload your scanned photo & original signature.
  • Lastly, the examination fee should be paid.

There are some important things that are required to keep in mind during applying for NEET exam and they are-

  1. Candidates can only submit one application since additional applications will be rejected by the authorities.
  2. Students must submit scanned papers in JPG or JPEG format.
  3. The last date to submit the application is August 10, 2021.
  4. If students upload inaccurate photos or details, they can rectify them within the rectification period. From August 11th, 2021, the rectification window will be available.
  5. The application fee payment window has been extended till August 15th, 2021.
  6. Candidates must select four cities as their preferred examination location.
  7. There is no need to submit the authorities a hardcopy of the application form.
  8. Candidates should remember to take a printout of their completed application form.

NEET Admit Card

Candidates whose NEET-UG 2021 application form is recognized by the National Testing Agency will receive a NEET admission card. By signing in to the NTA website, candidates will be able to get their NEET admission card 2021. The candidate information, NEET application number, roll number, exam center assigned, reporting time, and exam day rules will all be given on the NEET 2021 admission card. The NTA has issued guidelines that the NEET hall ticket will not be sent to any applicant individually.

On September 12, a pen-and-paper version of the NEET test will be held. On September 9, the admission card for NEET-UG 2021 will be issued. The NEET exam lasts for three hours and will take place between 2 and 5 p.m. The city of the exam will be announced on August 20, 2021.

NEET Exam Dates

NEET released the application form on July 13, 2021. The NEET 2021 test for MBBS and BDS admissions was set to take place on August 1, 2021. However, especially during the second wave, the NEET 2021 deadline has been pushed out. The NEET 2021 test has been rescheduled for September 12th, 2021. The application period for NEET 2021 ended on August 10th. The NEET application correction window was closed for registrations on August 14, 2021.

NEET Exam Centers

NEET exam centers are locations where the NEET exam is administered. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the list of NEET test cities for 2021. According to a letter from Amit Khare, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, a new exam city at Dubai has been added to the list of exam centers, bringing the total number of exam centers to - 203. According to statistics from the previous year, there are 3862 NEET test centers. Candidates must select four NEET test centers in 2021 when filling out the application form. NEET 2021 test center selections must be made in order of preference and convenience.

Considering the previous year's examination, Physics was the most difficult section of the exam. Last year's NEET Chemistry portion was of moderate difficulty. In the NEET Chemistry subject, a total of 45 questions were asked. In the NEET test, the biology portion has the most weightage. The NEET exam paper has a total of 90 Biology questions for 360 points. According to the previous year's results, the overall NEET Biology component was of a low difficulty level.

Results Cut-off of exam

Last year, the cut-off scores for unreserved and EWS category applicants in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) rose to 720-147 from 701-134 in NEET 2019. The NEET cut-off for applicants from Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) has increased to 146-113 from 133-107 in 2019. The NEET cut-off for applicants in the PwD category was also increased.
